I'm Santana. Basically, I'm better than you. Oh, and mess with my girl Britt and you'll be sorry.

Brittany smiled her thanks to Santana, and took a handful of candy, popping it in her mouth bit by bit, as she listened to Santana talk. Brittany noticed the same forced smile on Quinn’s face, and smiled as Santana rolled her eyes, and hugged Quinn. But this time, there was no feeling of… Jealousy in the pit of her stomach. There was happiness, and pride. The Unholy Trinity were together again, and Brittany couldn’t be happier. So happy that she bounced closer to the two girls, wrapping her arms around them, but her momentum made them fall to the side, and neither of the girls could stop laughing.

The girls caught their breath and sat up, and Brittany watched as Santana checked the time, nodding in agreement that it was way too early to even think about going to sleep. When Quinn asked them both what sort of movie they were up for, Brittany went to answer, but Santana beat her to it. What are you up to S? Brittany thought as Quinn left the room. When Santana turned to face Brittany properly, she raised an eyebrow, suspiciously, because she knew Santana was up to… Something. As Santana told her of the plan, Brittany was already formulating a plan in her mind. We really do need to help her. Q is normally so confident and stuff. And now, she’s a mess.

Brittany must have had a sparkle in her eye or something, because Santana titled her head to the side, a smirk on her face, and asked her what she was thinking. “Well,” Brittany started, “You know how we have that girls versus boys assignment thing?” Santana nodded. “Seeing as I’m queen choreographer,” she giggled, “I get to choose who dances with who and stuff…” Brittany had a cheeky grin on her face as her voice trailed off, slight suggestion in her tone. Santana linked a pinky with Brittany’s, and lifted her hand to kiss it. “So really, they’re just gonna have to work together,” Brittany smiled innocently, “I mean, I’ll have to pair people up evenly.. So like, the height differences are about the same for each pair… So yeah, they’re just gonna have to work together… Rehearse alone together… I might even make them choose some moves of their own for the freestyle section… Ooops.” Brittany shrugged her shoulders, acting overly innocent, then giggled a little as Santana pulled her forward, into a hug, and kissed her softly. “Love you too,” she said, snuggling up to Santana, and resting her head on her shoulder.

A few minutes later, Quinn returned, hands behind her back, and Brittany looked towards her, not moving from her position. “What movies did you get Q?” she asked, as she pulled some more candy out of the bag sitting on Santana’s stomach. “It’s a surprise,” Quinn said. Brittany rolled her eyes, as Santana asked if they had to choose or something. “Yup, pretty much. I mean, we’ll watch them both anyways, but you gotta pick left or right for the first movie.” Brittany laughed a little and shook her head, as did Santana. Then, without even thinking, both girls pointed to Quinn’s right. And when they noticed this, they all got the giggles. “You two really are a match made in heaven,” Quinn commented as she put the DVD in, not letting either girl see what it was just yet. She’s so right, Brittany thought. And as she did, Brittany felt Santana’s arms wrap around her that little bit tighter, so she pressed a gentle kiss to her neck. “So Q,” Brittany asked as Quinn sat back on Santana’s other side, “What have you put on, you gonna, y’know, let us watch it and all, or we just playing games,” she laughed as she chucked a piece of candy at Quinn’s face. Quinn just rolled her eyes, and pressed play, popping the candy into her mouth.

As Santana listened to Brittany speak of her plan for Quinn and Rachel, she began to understand just where she was going with it. Linking her pinky with Brittany’s, Santana smiled as Brittany further explained her devious plan. She really is a genius. Santana nodded, looking into Brittany’s eyes and pulled her forward for a soft kiss, whispering “I love you” against Brittany’s lips. Santana smiled into the sweet smelling blonde hair of her girlfriend as her head rested on her shoulder, and thought sadly for a moment how no one else could truly understand just how much of a genius Brittany really was. Santana pushed those thoughts away, not wanting to bring any negativity to the night, and settled for smirking to herself in acknowledgement that only she could ever understand and appreciate how simply perfect and unique the love of her life was.

When Quinn returned and told the girls to choose left or right for the movie, both pointed to Quinn’s right hand and burst into a fit of giggles. Santana wrapped her arms around Brittany as Quinn sneakily put the movie in, not letting the other girls know what it was just yet. Santana felt Brittany kiss her neck softly, and she wrapped her arms tighter around her. Finally Quinn pressed play amongst laughter, and the girls settled in closely to one another to watch the movie and eat even more candy.

Once the opening scene had started, Santana knew immediately what the movie was that Quinn had put on. “Hey, I know this movie! It’s Pitch Perfect right? They basically do what we do in Glee club, but lamer. That blonde girl is hot as hell though.” Santana’s eyes were transfixed to the screen, staring at the actress who’s name had escaped her. She felt Brittany tense up slightly, and Santana shook her head out of her trance, giggling slightly as she nuzzled against Brittany’s neck. “Nowhere near as hot as you babe”, she whispered. At this, Quinn’s head whipped around to stare at the girls. “I can hear you girls you know. And I do believe I’m just as hot, if not hotter than whoever that actress is.” The girls began giggling again, as Santana turned to hug Quinn, responding in a slightly sarcastic tone, “Oh, of course Q. No one can ever meet your hotness standards!” After even more giggle fits, the girls finally huddled closer together and continued to watch the film. It was filled with many more laughs, with Brittany yelling every now and then to the lead girls “KISS HER ALREADY”, to which Santana and Quinn playfully rolled their eyes at.

Once the movie had finished, Quinn pressed the button to switch the tv off, turning to face Santana and Brittany. Santana looked back at Quinn, noticing a slightly… confused, look. “What’s up Q?” Quinn simply looked back at the girls, now smirking. “Oh, nothing…” She began, causing Brittany to gently slap Quinn’s arm, coaxing her onwards. “Okay okay… it’s just… why couldn’t the girls have ended up together? Their chemistry was insane, they were practically doing each other with their eyes the whole time, and not once did they stand against the other…” Santana couldn’t hold in her laughter anymore, but upon seeing Quinn’s expression she settled down again. “Sorry Q… but really, did you not just describe you and… you know?” Quinn raised an eyebrow, then looked over to Brittany, who was now wearing the same expression as Santana.

Quinn finally must’ve understood that Santana meant Rachel, causing her now to chuckle. “I guess so…anyway, next movie?” Santana nodded as Quinn got up to put the other film in. Turning to Brittany, she whispered so Quinn couldn’t hear, “Do you think we should tell her about the plan to get her dancing with Rachel? She seems way too down about this whole thing now…” Brittany sighed, clearly deep in thought. She settled for responding to Santana with saying maybe after the next movie, to help lift Quinn’s spirits. Santana nodded in agreement as Quinn sat back down, this time laying her head down on Santana’s lap. Both Brittany and Santana immediately began stroking Quinn’s hair, silently hoping their gentle touches would calm Quinn’s mind. How the hell can Rachel, of all people… have this weird effect on Q? She’s Quinn freaking Fabray… if Rachel screws her up even more, I swear to God nothing will hold me back from- Santana suddenly felt a soft slap on her arm, and whipping her head around she saw Brittany looking at her sternly, as though she knew exactly what she was thinking and where her thoughts were headed. Smiling apologetically, she went back to watching the movie, only now realising she had no idea what they were watching. “What movie did you put in Q? It looks creepy…” Quinn giggled, before adding “Try and guess. Winner gets… eternal love from me!” Which brought out yet another laughter fit from the girls.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany sat there and giggled along with Santana, and rolled her eyes at the same moments. Quinn was at first so oblivious to everything, and that even shocked Brittany, who was normally the oblivious one to things right in front of her eyes. Faberry? What would our name like that be.. Mashed together.. Hmmm. Might ask San about that later… Brittany cracked up laughing at the slip of tongue her girlfriend had,  along with the other two girls. Yes silly, Brittany nodded along with Santana as Quinn questioned them about Rachel liking her. Oh my god Q, really. Yes. Come on she broke up with that t-rex for you. God. Clueless.. Haha like the movie… Ohhh San, I’m always gonna be your lady.. I’ll show you that on the weekend babe.. Brittany shot Santana a wink, and put on her best ‘thinking face’ which may have been a tad over-dramatic, and thought of a response.

“Well, seeing as my girl is too much of a tough bad-ass to be cutesy and help you with the next step,” Santana gasped in fake shock, and Brittany lent over, kissing her cheek, and whispering, “I think it’s sexy okay?” Brittany was sure she saw a flush of red hit Santana’s cheeks, and then turned back to Quinn. “Okay, so next step is, talk to her. Be her friend. I mean sure, she obviously wants you in the pants just as much as you do. But you don’t wanna scare her off,” Brittany said bluntly. “But.. Brittany I don’t.. Not that…” Quinn stumbled over her words in response, and both Brittany and Santana sat there, arms crossed, giving Quinn a look that said ‘Really? You sure?’

“Okay, so maybe I do,” Quinn admitted in defeat. Brittany smiled and nodded, and continued, “So talk to her. We’re all in Glee club. So something about that. I mean sure, she won’t shut up about it, coz she loves it. But it’s a good way to get in there. And will show you care in some way. I mean, Sanny lets me talk heaps about Lord Tubbington and I listen when she talks about COD even though we both don’t really care about the topic the other is talking about. But coz we love each other, we do it.”   Brittany looked to Santana, a smile on her face, as Santana smiled back and nodded. “I guess I could do that..” Quinn said slowly, but Brittany interrupted her, “Oh my god I just had the best idea! You could talk to her about doing a duet!! Sanny, don’t you think their voices would be so pretty together?!” Santana nodded, admitting that Quinn and Rachel’s voices would work well together. Brittany clapped her hands together, “So that’s my advice, talk to her about doing a duet, because your voices will sound so pretty together! Now, lets keep this party going! Anyone for more candy?” Brittany said, slightly hyper, as Quinn and Santana laughed at her new found hyper-activity.

When Brittany whispered in Santana’s ear in that low voice, it sent shivers through her body and she was sure she felt her cheeks grow red. Thankfully, Brittany started speaking again before Quinn could notice Santana’s sudden embarrassment. Santana listened as Brittany spoke to Quinn, silently agreeing with everything her girlfriend was saying, even crossing her arms at the same time as Brittany while giving Quinn an inquisitive look. B always knows what say. She’s so perfect… Santana couldn’t hold back her smile at Brittany’s words of “we love each other”, because it was beyond true. Santana adored the fact that it was as simple as that - just fact, that they loved each other, and even though most of the time she really couldn’t care less about how Brittany thought Lord Tubbington had joined a gang, or started smoking again, she would always listen no matter what. Plus, it was simply way too adorable to see Brittany speak about these things to not listen. And who else was going to listen to her rant on about her COD games? Of course Brittany didn’t care for Santana’s rants about how she scored twenty kills in under a minute, or how that idiot from the other team snuck up on her when she was reloading, but the simple fact that Brittany listened ever so intently, all the time, proved how much they loved each other. It was perfect, really.

At the mention of Quinn and Rachel doing a duet together, Santana immediately nodded, slightly taken aback at how she really did believe their voices would work well together. She wished she had at least pretended to look slightly disgusted at the thought, but then thought better of it - Quinn really seemed to like Rachel, and if it made her happy, then Santana would do what she could to help out. Even if it made her feel slightly sick. Santana burst into laughter with Quinn as Brittany finished her advice talk, and immediately darted her eyes around for more candy. Such a cutie, I love when you’re all hyper. God it’s adorable… Santana reached over to grab some more candy, opened it and took a handful before passing it along to Brittany, who smiled at her in thanks. When Santana looked over to Quinn, she saw that there was a smile on her face, however it looked somewhat forced, and Santana wasn’t going to have that. “Yo, Q. What’s going on in that head of yours now?” Quinn looked up sighing, proving that Santana was indeed right about her smile looking forced. “Everything’s fine, San, really. Thank you girls so much for helping me with… all of this. It just still feels a bit… weird, you know? But I will… I will talk to her about Glee or something… get her talking, then yeah…” Santana rolled her eyes over dramatically, before moving closer to Quinn and throwing her arms around the girl. Resting her chin on Quinn’s shoulder, Santana raised her eyes to meet Quinn’s, who was looking down at her. “It’s all going to be okay, Q, I promise. If i can get on board with you liking Hobbi-, uh, Rachel, then i think something about this must be right. Got it?” Quinn let out a giggle and nodded, as Brittany bounded closer to them and wrapped her arms around both girls, causing them all to collapse onto the bed in another fit of giggles.

Once the girls had caught their breaths, Santana checked her phone for the time, and noticed it was still fairly early in the evening. Well, definitely not late enough to sleep just yet. Quinn also noticed the time, and seeming as though she was reading Santana’s mind, Quinn leapt off the bed and headed over to Santana’s DVD pile. “What do you girls feel like watching? Horror? Comedy… romance… action… hmm?” An idea suddenly sprung into Santana’s mind, and before Brittany could respond to Quinn, Santana quickly answered, “I don’t really mind, but I don’t have that many great ones in here. There’s a bunch more downstairs in the cabinet.” Quinn turned around and stood up, nodding to Santana, “Sounds good, I’ll go see what I can find!” Santana watched Quinn leave the room, before turning to Brittany, who had her eyebrow raised at Santana, knowing she was up to something. “Okay okay, I had to get her out of the room somehow. We really need to help her out with Rachel. I know she’s Quinn and all confident and owns it like no one else, but when it comes to Berry? She’s practically a damn mess. I’m not good at any of this stuff Britts, but we have to do something… find a way to get them alone together in Glee club maybe?” Santana was lost with this whole thing, but knew by the small sparkle in Brittany’s eye that she was already forming a plan in that magical brain of hers.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany knew that Santana would never ever hurt her like that, and she’s just seen what had happened from the wrong angle. But hearing Santana explain everything, it made her feel ten-fold better. Their eyes were locked, and all Brittany saw was sincerity in Santana’s eyes as she explained everything. Feeling like an idiot, Brittany softly whispered “thank you,” to Santana, and couldn’t help but smile as Santana pressed her lips to Brittany’s, and kept smiling as she pulled away. When Santana mentioned the Rachel thing, Brittany giggled at her remark, “Same, it’s kinda creepy hey? I think.. I think I might have an idea.. Just follow my lead when we’re up there okay?” Santana nodded towards Brittany as she went around the bench to clean up the mess Brittany left. Wanting to help clean up what she’d done, Brittany followed, and went to bend down to help, when Santana told her to go back up to Quinn. “Okay,” she nodded, placing a gentle kiss on Santana’s cheek before heading back upstairs. Saturday. I’m making it up to her so bad for making her feel bad..

“Hey what took so long? You alright bumblebee?” Quinn quizzed as Brittany re-entered the bedroom. I’ll tell her.. I can’t hide it.. She would see through it anyways.. “Yeah, I’m good,” Brittany said as she sat beside Quinn on the bed, “I actually… I gotta tell you something..” “What’s up B?” Quinn said, concern on her face. “Okay, so just let me get it out yeah? I just wanna get through it..” Quinn nodded, and waited for Brittany to continue. “Okay, so after I hung up my phone, I went to walk back into the room, and then I saw.. Well what looked like you kissing San.. And I don’t know why, but I felt kinda.. Jealous.. But like.. I know neither of you would do that. I just.. It felt weird, that feeling just appeared out of nowhere.. And I just.. Then San lent her head on your shoulder and it hit me again. It was stupid, I know, but Q, I know you wouldn’t do that. Ever. And now I think San probably hates herself or something.. She’s said before she could hurt me.. And I think she might think that now. But she didn’t I let my head think stupid thoughts.. So I’m sorry.. I really am.”

“Oh B, of course I would never ever ever think of doing that. Ever. I kissed her on the cheek, and just the angle, it made the connection closer to her lips. I would never try anything like that.. It’s not.. San’s not the one I like like that. Bumblebee, I meant what I said, I’ve always seen how deep you girls are. That one day this would happen. And maybe you’re right, San may hate herself right now coz she might feel that way, but it’ll only be because she loves you that damn much, okay? But thankyou for telling me this.” Quinn then lent over, and hugged Brittany. “Thanks for not hating me…” Brittany said, laughing softly at her stupidity over the whole thing. “As if I could ever hate my bumblebee. And if I did, Santana would kill me.” “True..” Brittany giggled. Then Brittany remembered what Quinn had said during her little speech before. San’s not the one I like like that…’

“Sooooo, who have you got a crush on. Spill. Who do you like like thaaat?” Brittany giggled, “I think I might know!” Quinn looked at Brittany, “As if!” “Yup. I do. I think it has something to do with what Rachel said,” Brittany said, a hint of cheekiness in her voice. Quinn looked away, “IT DOES! I was so right. It makes sense!! When San gets back, tell us what she said to you!!” Quinn, knowing she was busted, looked back to Brittany, using her eyes to tell her she was right. The pair smiled at each other as Santana walked back into the room. Santana sat infront of the girls, and Brittany’s eyes were gleaming. And she couldn’t help but giggle as Santana asked what was up, and looked from Quinn to Santana. Brittany nodded at Santana when she raised an eyebrow. It’s totally about the Rachel thing. Brittany giggled as Santana squirmed her way inbetween the pair, and waited Quinn’s explanation.

“Well, we were in the choir room. I’d left a book in there after rehearsing that number for the assignment.. So I went back, and of course, Rachel was in there. I walked over to the back of the room where my books were.. And it felt like.. Her eyes. They were on me. And.. Then she said.. My legs looked good in the dress I was wearing. I was stunned, and turned around to ask what she’d said. Because I could have sworn I was hearing things. And then she said something about pegs and daring to use them in the performance. But her cheeks were red. And I’m sure mine were too.. And I don’t know. Then I walked out, and couldn’t help but smile.. Then I swear I heard her whisper to herself my smile was pretty.. And the smile stayed there..”

Brittany nudged Santana, biting her lip to stop herself from giggling at how blind Quinn was being about it all. It’s obvious S. Aint it? Santana looked to Brittany with the same expression, and nodded. “Gosh Q,” Brittany said, trying her best to hold back the giggles, “You really can’t see what’s happening here, can you?” Quinn looked to the pair, puzzled, “Okay, you’re doing that mind reading thing again. And what do you mean I can’t see what’s happening?”

Santana listened as Quinn spoke of the whole Rachel thing, and she tried her hardest to hold back the laughter she so badly wanted to release. She was sure a small smirk was placed on her face though, but there was no way she could hold that back. As much as she thought this whole thing was quite funny, it made her feel slightly sick as well. Hobbit… likes Q? Rachel… liking my Quinn? What the hell… But Santana quickly got over her initial nausea, realising that as annoying as Rachel most definitely was…. she was actually quite attractive, in a nerdy school girl type way. Not that she would ever admit that to anyone. She felt Brittany nudge her, and looked to see she was holding back giggles as well. Knowing that Brittany was thinking how blind Quinn was being, Santana nodded knowingly, just as surprised as Brittany was. Quinn still looked puzzled, and asked what the girls meant, noticing their whole mind reading thing happening again. Santana looked back to Brittany, telling her without words that this was going to be a struggle to get through without bursting out into laughter, but she’d handle it. After Brittany had nodded back, Santana took a deep breath and turned back to Quinn, reaching over to hold her hand and squeeze it gently, looking up into her eyes with a mischievous glint.

“Quinn… darling. For someone so damn smart, how the hell can you be so dumb about this whole thing!” Quinn faked an offended expression, gasping dramatically to which all girls let small giggles out at. Her eyes told Santana she wanted her to continue though, so she did. “Q, Berry has a major crush on you, clearly. Like… crazy point. She was probably shaking so hard trying to tell you how hot your legs looked that i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all she could think about since it happened. And  you! Oh man, YOU Quinn, clearly like her too.” To this, Quinn smirked, confirming it. Santana rolled her eyes with Brittany in response, laughing a little. “It’s so obvious Q. As much as it makes me want to vomit to think anyone could like Hobbit in that way… I mean, Rachel… yeah, ew. But I guess I can accept it, if she makes you smile that much just by saying your legs look good… not to mention how freaking giddy you are… then i guess i can get on board with this whole i don’t know, Faberry thing…” The second the word “Faberry” slipped out of Santana’s mouth, is what triggered all three girls to burst out in laughter, with no hope of stopping anytime soon. After a short while of innocent giggle fits, the girls caught their breath and sat up straight again. Quinn let out another small laugh, and then looked back up to the girls.

“I never thought I’d even feel this way about Rachel, ever. I’ve always thought she was kind of cute and all, but now I just can’t even get her out of my head. You girls really think she likes me like that?” Both Santana and Brittany nodded in unison, smiling. “Oh gosh, she does! What am I meant to do? Do I talk to her, do I ask her out? Do I act like nothing’s happened? I mean she just broke up with Finn barely a couple of weeks ago, do I give her more time? I don’t know what to do!” Santana smiled, wondering how she could still be so oblivious. “Q, ever wondered why Berry broke up with T-Rex?” Santana watched as Quinn’s eyes grew wider, realising the reason for the first time, and mouthing the word “me?” while pointing to herself. Santana nodded. “Oh yeah. But as for asking about what to do next… I’m sorry, but my Quinn and Rachel lovefest has to stop at admitting it’s kinda cute, anything that happens next well.. uh, I’ll leave that for the wise words of my lady.” Santana looked over to Brittany, who winked at her, putting on an over dramatic thoughtful look before she responded.

britty-kitty-pierce:

“You sleep good now okay kiddo?” Brittany said as she heard Emma pass the phone back to her mum. “Yeah mum love you too, see you tomorrow sometime.” Hanging up her phone, Brittany put it back in her pocket and headed back to Santana’s room. The door was still slightly ajar, and as Brittany got to it, she stopped. From her angle, it looked like Quinn was kissing Santana, and it made Brittany’s heart jump a little bit. No she would never.. I mean the ring.. Everything we’re going through.. She wouldn’t. I know she wouldn’t.. Brittany thought as she stood there playing with the ring on her finger. There was a feeling pooling in her stomach, and she didn’t like it.. No.. She really wouldn’t. Stop being so.. Jealous Brittany. It’s nothing..

Deciding she probably should get back to the party, Brittany put on her brave face, ans skipped back into the room as if nothing happened. But there were still thoughts flying about her mind. Stop. Have fun with your friends.. Brittany sat on the bed opposite the pair. “She’s good, just wanted a bedtime story, but not from mummy. She apparently tells lame stories,” Brittany laughed. Brittany has seen the exchange of smiles, and smiled towards the pair.

The candy supplies kept going down, and the giggles went on, and Brittany felt a bit better about everything, although the thoughts were still in the back of her mind. In her heart, Brittany knew Santana would never ever do anything to hurt her. Ever. Especially not something like that. They all had forgotten about what Quinn said about Rachel mentioning something to her, and it had not been brought up again. The girls sat there, watching Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, when Brittany noticed Santana rest her head on Quinn’s shoulder, and the jealousy feeling shot through her again. “I’m gonna umm… Go get a drink.. Be back in a sec,” she said absentmindedly, unlinking her pinky from Santana’s and climbing off the bed, heading downstairs.

As Brittany got to the kitchen, she realised that her excuse to leave the room was stupid, because they still had some soft drink left upstairs. Getting herself a glass of water, she sat on the kitchen bench, and went through her own thoughts. They’re just close. We all are. I mean.. We’re best friends. It meant nothing like it means between me and San. I know San wouldn’t do that. Stop being so damn jealous Brittany.. You’re in love. And Quinn would never try hurt either of us or anything.. Santana loves you dammit. Stop feeling so jealous over something that lasted a second and wasn’t like that.. Just stop. Stop stop stop… She stared into her water glass, unaware she was softly mumbling her thoughts, and that she’d taken so long that Santana had come down to see where she was, and was shocked when she heard Santana softly say her name, so much so she dropped the glass of water, and it smashed on the floor.

“I umm.. I.. Oh hi San.. Sorry.. I’ll ummm… I’ll clean it up,” Brittany muttered as she got off the bench, careful to not step on any broken glass, and retrieved some teatowels from the drawer. She started hastily mopping up the water, and carefully putting the broken glass to one side, she she felt Santana’s hands grab hers, stopping her, and pulling Brittany to her feet, getting them both away from the mess. Brittany tried to walk away, and go finish cleaning up the mess she’d caused, when Santana held her ground, and held Brittany close to her, and asked her what was wrong, that she was worried about her. Brittany sighed, her eyes looking down, and spoke. “I.. I umm.. When I came back from being on the phone.. I saw you and Quinn.. Umm.. And it made me.. I don’t know. I mean.. I know you’d never do anything like that. And I don’t know why I felt.. Jealous or something. But I umm. I just love you so much and to see you do that it.. I don’t know.. I just.. I know you’d never hurt me or do anything like that.. I mean, you gave me the ring and all that.. And I know Q would never…..”

Brittany was rambling, she herself didn’t even know what to make of her own thoughts, and then just stopped. Her gaze still avoiding Santana’s eyes, she quietly mumbled, “I.. I’m sorry. I.. I’m so sorry.. I didn’t mean too.. Say all that. I just love you so so so damn much..” Brittany held back the tears, she was determined not to cry, and it seemed like forever before Santana spoke in reply to what Brittany had just said. Brittany was lost in her own thoughts, and there were things she was thinking, but wasn’t sure if they were right or not, but things were slowly piecing together.. Hang on.. Maybe.. No.. It couldn’t be.. It kinda fits.. But.. Well maybe.. Brittany asked, “You reckon we could.. Ask Q about that Rachel thing, she hasn’t brought it up yet.. And then umm.. I don’t know..” Brittany just wanted to break the silence, she was sure Santana was thinking of a response, but it scared her as the seconds ticked on, unsure of what Santana’s response would be. I’m so so sorry. Please don’t hate me. I love you and don’t know what I would do without you.. Please, just please… I’m such an idiot.. Stupid.. I’m so sorry… She thought, again unaware if herself softly whispering her words, and was almost numb to the fact Santana’s hold on her had tightened, as if to say she’d never lose her ever, and that she loved her too. Idiot. Your thoughts.. Why think that.. Please S, say something.. Anything.. The silence is scarring me..

The girls kept on giggling and laughing together, as their candy supplies decreased, much to their happiness. Santana had pushed the thought aside of what Rachel could’ve mentioned to Quinn, eventually going forgotten amongst the girls, each realising Quinn would speak about it in her own time. They all sat together watching a movie with Santana and Brittany’s pinkies linked together. It was getting late, but they were all still enjoying their night, content with it continuing for a while longer until their exhaustion took over. Quinn softly laughed a funny part in the movie, and Santana smiled at the sound of her laughter. She rested her head to the side on Quinn’s shoulder, nuzzling a little to get comfortable. Unholy Trinity night is awesome. Dammit I freaking love these girls more than anything… Santana was jolted out of her thoughts though when Brittany mentioned something about going to get a drink, and her head shot up as she watched Brittany nearly run out the door. Santana shrugged and rested her head again on Quinn’s shoulder for a few moments, when her thoughts came back to her. Wait… there’s plenty of drinks still here… and she basically ran out of the room… what the hell? Her head snapped back up, turning to look at Quinn. She noticed that Quinn’s expression was as confused as her own, both realising what had just happened. “Should I go check on her? She’s actually been gone a while…” Quinn bit her lip, looking as though she was trying to assess the situation. “Yeah… good idea. Maybe she’s just tired or something?” Santana thought it was much deeper than that, and knew Quinn could tell by the look on her face. “Yeah… I’ll go see how she is, back in a  minute.” Quinn nodded, as Santana stood up and ventured downstairs. Maybe… fuck. Maybe she saw me and Q and got the wrong idea… oh shit, B…

Santana walked softly into the kitchen as her eyes caught sight of Brittany, staring at her glass mumbling incoherent words. She gently said “Brittany?” so as to not startle her, but Brittany jumped slightly and dropped the glass as it smashed to the floor. She muttered apologies as she tried to clean up the mess, but Santana was now alarmed she might hurt herself, so she quickly walked over and grabbed Brittany’s hand and pulled them both away from the mess. Santana felt Brittany try to struggle free, but she held her ground, holding Brittany close to her as she sensed a much deeper issue than just the smashed glass. “B, what’s wrong? I’m worried, I know something’s up… talk to me.” Santana heard Brittany sigh, and felt her heart stop as she began to talk. Oh fuck it is about me and Q… no… no it wasn’t like that at all, I would never… I could never do that, neither could Q… fuck…stop saying sorry, please B… Santana saw that Brittany was avoiding her eyes, and it made her unsure of how to respond. Her thoughts still racing, silently cursing herself that she let herself yet again hurt Brittany, she then asked about the Quinn and Rachel thing. Santana only held Brittany tighter, trying to get across that she’d never lose her, and the amount of love she had for her was forever. Santana pulled away slowly, reaching to lift Brittany’s head slightly to look into her eyes. When their eyes were locked, Santana took a small breath and began to try to explain.

“Britt… nothing happened with me and Q. I promise you. It never, ever would. It may have… looked like we were kissing or something… but we weren’t. She kissed my cheek, probably a little closer to my lips than normal… but it wasn’t like that at all. We were talking, and it just happened, like it does. I’m so, so sorry you thought it was something else. I’m sorry I hurt you… you have to believe me though, okay? It was nothing…” Santana realised she probably sounded like she was begging, and in a way, she was. She was terrified of ever hurting Brittany, and just the thought alone that Brittany believed even for a second that Santana would do that… it killed her. She didn’t tell Brittany that though, she didn’t need to know. Santana saw Brittany nod, showing slight relief at her words. She whispered a small “thankyou”, to which Santana replied to by kissing her softly on the lips, smiling as they pulled away. “I love you so much, B. Forever. And about the Rachel thing… yeah, I was thinking that too. Q mentioned it earlier, but said she’d tell us later. Maybe she doesn’t even know how to bring it up herself? Asking her again can’t hurt, I really want to know what it’s all about though, it’s kinda creeping me out…” The girls softly giggled at this, as Santana walked around to the kitchen bench and grabbed some more towels to clean up the spill and glass. She saw Brittany begin to bend down and help, but Santana held up a hand motioning her to stop. “No, I don’t want you to get hurt, there’s a lot of glass here. Why don’t you go back up to Q, start to mention Berry and ask her about it again? I’ll clean up here, and I’ll be up soon, okay?” Brittany nodded before bending down to kiss Santana’s cheek, and headed back upstairs.

Santana was glad Brittany wasn’t hurt and jealous anymore, but she still loathed herself for letting Brittany even feel that way. She knew that her and Quinn were extremely close, but nowhere near the same way as her and Brittany. What she mustve felt upstairs when Quinn kissed her… was just simply pure happiness that she had one of her most important friends back in her life, the way she should be. That’s all it was. Why does it seem like I’m trying to convince myself… fucking hell Lopez, get a grip. It’s Quinn. I don’t see her like that at all. We just have a weird friendship, but just friends. Stop over analysing this shit… Santana cleared away the last of the broken glass, and wandered back upstairs slowly, hoping she had given Brittany and Quinn enough time to talk a little. She opened the door and walked in to her room, seeing the two girls sitting back up on her bed, side by side, smiling to each other. Santana smiled and walked towards them, sitting down in front of them. She caught Brittany’s eye, and saw a small glint there, which intrigued her. “What’s up?” Brittany giggled again, looking to Quinn and back to Santana. Piecing the events together, Santana raised an eyebrow at Brittany, who nodded back to her. “Oh, so Q, you’re finally gonna tell us what this whole Berry thing’s about?” Quinn smirked, and Brittany simply kept giggling, clearly excited about what the news was going to be.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany gasped as the bag of lollies she had reached for spilled all over the floor. Ooops.. Sitting back up, the three girls looked at each other, then suddenly burst into laughter. It was so natural for Santana to call Brittany ‘kitty’ now that she never even gave it a second thought now Quinn was with them. Then Quinn spoke about kitty being something she’d not heard before, and Brittany saw the look on her face, of utter curiosity. Brittany noticed Santana’s body immediately freeze at Quinn’s words, and looked over to her, waiting for their eyes to meet. It’s okay.. You can tell her. I love you.. Brittany thought, nodding as their eyes met.

Brittany watched on as Quinn kept her eyes on Santana as she spoke, telling their best friend about how they were in love with each other. I am so damn proud of you babe. So so proud.. Brittany reached over, placing her hand over Santana’s as she spoke. Brittany smiled back as Santana looked to her, but then was curious to why Quinn had a knowing look on her face as both girls looked to their best friend. Why are you giggling?

Quinn spoke of how she knew, and was waiting for them to finally realise what they had. You already knew.. Well.. And you don’t care. And you were waiting for it. I love you Q, so much. This is why we’re all best friends. When Quinn said she best be maid of honour at the wedding, Brittany felt Santana’s nerves as she giggled, and squeezed her hands, the dark hazel eyes meeting Brittany’s own. Brittany knew what Santana was asking, and nodded. Just as Brittany went to speak, she felt Quinn’s hand rest stop of hers, and spoke like she knew they’d just silently discussed what was about to be said next. And it made Brittany that bit more nervous, and she sat there, the trio in silence, until she felt Quinn’s hand tighten the grip over her own and Santana’s, as if to tell her it was okay, she could say anything.

“Yeah.. There is actually,” Brittany said, looking up to Quinn, and meeting a caring and loving gaze, one Brittany knew all to well. It was the ‘Big sister’ gaze Brittany knew all too well, and it helped calm her nerves/shyness that bit more. “So we just.. Thank you, Q. We were so so nervous about telling you..” “Why? As if I couldn’t love my two best friends after telling me something so beautiful,” Quinn replied, her hand still grasping theirs. Brittany giggled shyly, “Thanks. But umm yeah, so I kinda really don’t know how to say it.. It’s more easier if I show you first.” “Show me what B?” Quinn quizzed, in her soothing calm voice. Brittany didn’t speak as she gently pried her hand from inbetween Quinn and Santana’s. She reached behind her neck, and undid the chain the ring sat on, while Quinn watched on quietly, and Santana put her hand on Brittany’s knee. With the chain and ring now in hand, Brittany slid the chain into her pocket, and put the ring on her finger, and rested it atop Santana’s hand that was placed on her knee, lacing her fingers into her girlfriends.

Quinn watched on silently for a moment, gazing at the ring, and Brittany let her, and smiled when she picked up not just her hand, but Santana’s too, to get a closer look at the ring. “It’s.. It’s a promise ring, Q. San gave it to me. We promised ourselves to each other.. I mean, it kinda always had been like that. But this.. I just..” Quinn softly cut Brittany off, “It’s okay B, I know,” she said as she let go of their hands, and pulled both girls in for a hug. The trio sat there in silence, Brittany smiling as she felt Santana kiss her cheek, knowing it was because she was proud of how she just spoke, and Brittany turned her head, returning the exact same gesture. “Girls please, you have a guest remember. Just no funny business when we’re trying to sleep!” Quinn laughed softly. Both Brittany and Santana looked to Quinn, Santana shooting a quip about Quinn being jealous, and Brittany finished it by saying, “Yeah Q! Not getting any?” Quinn sat there, shocked at the pairs comeback, laughing along with them at the same time.

The night went on, and the girls talked more and more, about anything and everything. It felt so natural, for them to be like this. While they talked, Brittany was laying down, head in Santana’s lap, while Quinn braided her hair, but then she heard her phone buzzing on Santana’s beside table. “Could someone pass it to me please?” she asked, as Quinn reached over and passed it to her, “It’s your mum.” Brittany grinned, answering the phone, “Hey mummy, what’s up?” Brittany listened as her mum spoke, “Okay, hang on a sec.” Brittany pulled the phone from her ear, “I’ll be back in a sec, Ems wants a bedtime story.” Quinn and Santana let Brittany up. “Yeah put the monster on.. Hey kiddo, before I tell you a story, say hi to Quinn and San okay?” Brittany held the phone towards Quinn and Santana as Emma called down the phone, and the two girls cheerily said, “Hiiiiiiii!” back. Brittany smiled to the two girls as she spoke to her little sister, and went out into the hallway, sitting at the top of the stairs and began her story.

Santana listened intently as Brittany spoke to Quinn. She tried to keep her reactions as calm as possible, looking to and from Brittany and Quinn. Santana then watched as Brittany reached around her neck for the necklace, and Santana placed her hand on Brittany’s knee, knowing she too was nervous. Placing the ring on her finger and then resting it upon Santana’s, they laced their fingers together and looked up to see Quinn gazing at the ring. Santana then let her hand be held by Quinn’s, and looked over as Brittany spoke. Santana’s eyes darted over to Quinn, staring at her reaction. She seemed calm enough, and had a small hint of a smile. Quinn then pulled both girls in for a hug, and Santana beamed, placing a small kiss on Brittany’s cheek. “I’m so proud of you” she whispered gently against Brittany’s cheek, unsure if she heard or not but knew she would understand.

Santana suppressed a smirk at Quinn’s remark, quickly sniping playfully back, “Oh please Q, you’re just jealous!” After Brittany’s remark, the girls all collapsed into fits of laughter. The night went on, full of laughter and fun and talk of anything and everything. It felt so normal for them all, to be in each others company again, just the three of them. Brittany’s phone rang, and it was her mother calling, explaining that Em wanted a bed time story from her sister. Santana and Quinn both called out a “Hi!” to the phone when Brittany held it out, and Santana then watched Brittany walk out the room to tell Emma a bedtime story. Santana then sat up straight on the bed, leaning against the wall as Quinn moved forward to sit next to her, reaching out to hold her hand. I’ve missed this so much… Santana turned and looked into Quinn’s eyes, recognising the familiar look of something that felt much like home. “Santana, I’ve really missed you. I’m… I’m sorry I’ve been a bit distant… I should’ve been there more for you and Brittany. I really am sorry…” What? Q… “Q, it’s okay. I know you’ve been going through some… stuff. But we’re all together now, and it’s perfect again.” Then Santana remembered something that Quinn had said earlier. “What did you want to tell me and B before?” Quinn’s eyes darted downwards, looking slightly nervous now. “Um… don’t worry about it yet. We’ll wait till B gets back in and we can talk then… but really, it’s nothing.” Santana stared at Quinn for a moment, trying to figure her out. Ugh, fine… only because I trust you, so we’ll wait till you want to talk. “Okay, if you’re sure Q…” Quinn nodded, and squeezed Santana’s hand tightly, smiling.

“Sooooo, you and Brittany! Finally San, I’ve known since the first time i saw you two together that one day you’d be walking down an isle with her…” Santana blushed, nuzzling her face into Quinn’s neck. Pulling away, she placed a small kiss on Quinn’s cheek. “There’s something else too. I’ve got a surprise for B tomorrow in Glee Club, I’m going to… sing for her. Miss H is gonna help.” Quinn beamed at Santana. “That’s so sweet San! What’re you going to sing?” Santana smiled back, then reached down under her bed to where she kept a few secret things of her own. Grabbing the paper, she held it out to Quinn, who took it and read the sheet music, her eyes lighting up. “Oh my God San… it’s perfect. It’s so perfect for you guys!” Santana laughed again, smiling in thanks. “I might um… need your help though. I mean, it’s a pretty… deep song, I don’t know how B will take it. I don’t know the rest of the Glee club will even take it… but if they say anything, I will murder them.” Quinn rolled her eyes, clearly used to Santana’s threats on the human race. “I’ll look after her, I promise. No one is going to say anything, they wouldn’t dare cross paths with Snix.” Santana nodded, agreeing. “Thanks, Q. I don’t know what I’d do without you. I’ve… I’ve really needed you the past few weeks…” Quinn placed the sheet music back under the bed, and reached over to hold both of Santana’s hands, waiting for her to continue to speak. She, like Brittany, understood the tone of voice Santana subconsciously used when being serious, and knew how hard it was for her to speak about, well, really anything.

Santana held Quinn’s gaze, trying to focus her thoughts into proper sentences. She took a deep breath, and began to speak. “There’s been… a lot going on, Q. Not just with Brittany and I, but with everything. I was in… a really, really fucking dark place a little while ago. I was…” She felt Quinn’s grasp tighten in reassurance, giving her the strength to continue. “I used to self-harm. Like, alot. It got really bad… I’d have break downs, panic attacks… maybe even worse than Snix. And the hardest part was when I had to tell B… I don’t even want to think about it. But I told her. And we got through it… i’m okay now but… I needed my Q, and you just… you were there, but you weren’t. Quinn I love you so much, you can’t ever, ever leave me, or Britt, again. Do you understand me? You just can’t…” Santana felt her throat choke up, unable to speak anymore. Quinn lifted her hand to wipe away a small tear from Santana’s cheek that she hadn’t realised had fallen. “Santana. Look at me.” Santana looked up. “I love you more than anyone else in this world. Both you and Brittany. You’re like… my friend soul-mate, if that makes sense. Whatever we go through, I know I’ll still have you. We could spend years apart, which won’t ever happen, but we could and when we’d see each other again everything would be completely normal. I’ve always been here for you S, always. I’m so sorry it felt like I wasn’t. It won’t happen ever again, I could never leave you Santana, I love you.” Santana forced a small smile when she felt no more tears, and leant in to hug Quinn. Embracing her, Santana again felt like this was the most normal thing in the world, just to be in the arms of one of the closest friends she had ever, and would ever have. “I love you too, Quinn. So freaking much. Thankyou…” The girls pulled away, smiling to each other.

Quinn leant in to place a small, loving kiss on the corner of Santana’s lips, to which their eyes both closed at the touch. It gave Santana a strange feeling; not much one of the way Brittany made her feel when she kissed her, but it felt to be bordering on that. It scared Santana a little bit, but she was jolted out of her thoughts as her bedroom door opened, to find Brittany smiling and skipping back in the room. Santana wasn’t sure if she had seen Quinn kiss her; the girls had darted away from each other the second the door opened. Maybe Q felt it too… it wasn’t a kiss on the lips though, i’d never cheat on Brittany, ever. EVER. Maybe it just… it’s been too long since it’s just been Q and me. We’ve always been crazy close, but know where the line is. I’m sure it’s nothing… Santana slowly looked up at Quinn, and saw her smiling sweetly at her. Santana smiled back, glad that the confusion from only moments ago seemed to have disappeared. Santana then looked over to Brittany, who had taken a seat on the bed in front of Santana and Quinn. “How’s Ems?”

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany threw anything and everything sugary into the shopping basket when they got to the shops, and then threw in some chocolate when Santana mentioned it. Hmm. Pizza. But frozen pizza.. We could just order in if we want it later.. “How about we just order in later on if and when we want it? Like we used to do?” Giggling at Santana’s comment, the girls then grabbed some soda, and s few more treats, when Santana’s phone buzzed. Brittany smiled when she heard that it was Quinn calling, and waited patiently to see what the conversation was about. “What’s Q want S?” Brittany asked, as Santana silently paid for their goodies. While they were walking back to Santana’s, Brittany was worried slightly, and again asked Santana, “Babe, what’d Q want?” When Santana explained, Brittany merely shrugged her shoulder, “If it were something bad, she would have said, it’s Quinn, she wouldn’t leave us hanging if it were something like, life or death…” The pair entered the front door, and shutting it, Brittany saw Santana was still a bit on edge. So she walked over to her, not saying a word, and softly yet passionately kissed her nervous girlfriend on the lips. Brittany nodded, and took Santana’s hand as they went upstairs to get everything ready for the night.

Once they had picked out some DVDs, and had their sugary good to one side, the pair sat on the floor, backs to the bed. “So.. How are we gonna.. You know, tell Q about us,” Brittany asked as she linked one of her hands in Santana’s, and rested her head on her shoulder. Santana kissed Brittany’s head, and said they’d just tell her, when they found the right time in the evening to do so. “Sounds like a plan,” Brittany lifted her head and smiled, leaning in at the same time as Santana, lips pressing together softly. The sweet kiss, however, was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. Looking at the time, it was only 5pm. Both the girls stood up, shrugging their shoulders, silently answering each others question of who it could be. They headed downstairs, and Santana opened the door. “Q!” Brittany happily exclaimed, as both girls hugged their newly arrived friend. “Sorry, I’m early, thought it might be a nice surprise. I got things done early.” Santana told her to not be silly, and that being early was fine. “Lets go upstairs, and get this party started!” Brittany giggled as the trio headed upstairs to Santana’s room.

“I hope you two don’t drill us too hard this year!” Quinn laughed as the girls talked about the Cheerios. Santana rolled her eyes, and Brittany laughed, “Only if you guys slack off we will!” “Brittany! You’re turning into Santana!” Brittany playfully gasped, and Santana threw a pillow at her. The trio kept giggling away about anything and everything, like they always did, forgetting about putting on a movie at all, and just kept eating the sugary goodies.

The girls picked out some DVD’s and put their sugary treats to one side, as they sat against the bed. Hmm.. how are we going to tell Q… Santana kissed the top of Brittany’s head now resting on her shoulder, and took a deep, calming breath. “I guess we’ll just know when the time is right, and tell her then. Knowing Q, she’ll roll her eyes at us and tell us she already knew…” The girls kissed softly, until they heard the doorbell ring. Knowing it would be Quinn, they headed downstairs and Santana opened the door, smiling widely at Quinn. They all hugged hello as Quinn apologised and explained she had finished doing whatever she was doing early, and thought it would be a nice surprise. “Don’t be silly Q, early is fine. As long as it’s not some stupid hour before 9am or something.” Santana winked at Q, and hugged her again, whispering in her ear silently, “I’ve missed you.” Quinn pulled away and gave Santana a look of agreement, smiling happily to her. They all then headed upstairs to get their Unholy Trinity night started. The trio talked and giggled at all the usual things, all feeling as though they had never been apart for too long. It all seemed so normal together, and Santana felt completely at home with her two best friends. Even when Quinn made a small joke at Santana’s expense and she retaliated to Brittany’s response by throwing a pillow at her playfully. As the time went by, their candy supply went down, but they had stocked up plenty so it was no problem. The girls were all sitting on Santana’s bed, and Brittany leant over to the floor to reach for another packet of lollies, and picking them up, she didn’t notice they were already opened and the candy spilled out onto the floor. Brittany gasped and Santana and Quinn looked over as she sat back up, and all burst out into a giggle fit. Santana looked over to Brittany, still laughing. “Silly Kitty! I’ll leave you to clean that up!” As their laughter died down, Quinn looked up to Santana, a curious look on her face with one eyebrow raised. “Kitty? Haven’t heard that one before…”

Santana’s body froze when she realised what she had said, and looked over to Brittany. She found comfort in her eyes, and felt her body relax, as each silently spoke to the other. Now’s the time… Brittany nodded to Santana, urging her to go on, knowing it should be her to speak first. Santana accepted this, took a deep breath, and looked up at Quinn. “Q… there’s um… something B and I have to tell you…” Quinn could clearly sense that this discussion was becoming serious, as the smirk on her face immediately vanished as she kept her eyes locked onto Santana’s. It wasn’t a harsh or piercing gaze, but more of an understanding one, and Santana felt even more at ease now, reminding herself that it wasn’t just anyone she was telling - it was only Q. “What is it, San?” Santana tried her best to keep her gaze locked with Quinn’s aswell, but faltered every now and then. “Um… okay, I don’t really know how to start this, so I guess I’ll just say it. You’re our best friend Q, and we love you like no one else in the world… so we wanted to be the ones to tell you, rather than you finding out some other way…” You can do this, Lopez. It’s just Q. Look at her… she loves you, that won’t change. Do it. Come on. “Brittany and I are… we’re um… we’re together. Like… girlfriend girlfriends. I’m in love with her, and she’s in love with me and… it just kind of happened. I can’t imagine my life without her… our family knows, and Miss H, but no one else. We don’t think we’re ready for anyone else to know yet, besides you, because we love you so much Q, and wanted you to know, and yeah we were kind of scared to tell you but like I said, you’re our best friend and you always have been and you should know these things and…yeah…” Santana had already lowered her eyes, to find Brittany’s hand resting over hers. She looked up to Brittany and smiled, then turned back to Quinn. She had a knowing smile on her face, but a happy one nonetheless. Then she giggled, and Santana let out a snappy “What?”. Quinn looked back and forth at Santana and Brittany, then cleared her throat to speak.

“Santana… Brittany… you think I didn’t know? I’m sorry I laughed, I didn’t mean anything bad by it, you know that.” Santana watched Quinn carefully as she spoke, she looked like she was talking about something as simple as the weather. I knew you’d react like this, hell, I even knew you already knew about us! Dammit Q, I love you so much. ”But really… having spent so much time with you girls, I was just waiting for the day you both finally realised how in love you were. I love you both too, more than anything, and I am beyond happy for you both. I just better be the maid of honor at your wedding!” Quinn smirked and winked at them, as Santana let out a nervous giggle. She didn’t know how to respond, so cleared her throat and tried to speak, but nothing came out. She felt as though they should tell Quinn the whole truth; they might as well, she was their best friend after all, and Santana knew she would be even more happy for them both. Yet, even though it was only Quinn she had spoken the words to, it was still so difficult for her; Santana needed help now. She squeezed Brittany’s hand tightly, and looked up at her, as though to convey her need for help, and that it was okay for Brittany to tell Quinn about the promise ring. Brittany nodded knowingly, and Santana was so thankful that they could basically read each others minds. Before Brittany could start to speak, Quinn reached over and placed her hand over Brittany’s, which was over Santana’s, and looked up at both girls, smiling. “I love you both so much. And even though I can’t read your minds, I know you two can read eachother’s and I know that look you both have when you’re doing exactly that. What else do you need to tell me?” The way Quinn spoke seemed so matter-of-fact to Santana, and that little smile she gave made everything she said make all the sense in the world. Santana was so happy they were all here together, telling Quinn the things they had struggled so much with, both so happy with eachother that they had to tell their best friend. It was the right time; the perfect time. Santana waited for Brittany to speak, as she felt Quinn’s hand tighten it’s hold over both her’s and Brittany’s.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany saw Santana smile and nod, agreeing to what she’d said in the note. You’re so beautiful when you smile.. For the rest of the class, Brittany’s mind wandered, mainly thinking about the dinner they were going to plan.. I know it’s gonna be hard and stuff.. I’m kinda scared about it.. But we.. Need to talk to them.. And together.. we can help each other talk.. And yeah.. Brittany was shaken out of her thoughts when the bell finally rang. When Santana asked Brittany to take her books back to her locker for her, Brittany nodded, and smiled, taking both their books and heading for the lockers. Smart idea, just incase we get caught out or something.. Brittany smiled to herself as she got to their lockers, putting away their books and retrieving their bags.

As she headed towards the front of the school, Brittany pulled out her phone, and sent a quick text to Quinn ‘Hey Q, can’t wait for tonight, it’s gonna be so awesome. I’ve missed having our unholy trinity play dates. See you later aligator! B xoxo’ Brittany stood, waiting for Santana to come to her so they could leave, when she felt her phone buzzing, and opened it up. ‘I’ve missed it too, it’s gonna be so awesome Britt, unholy trinity unite! Love thee bumblebee <3 Q xx’ Brittany smiled at the text, it was the way Quinn always signed off on her texts to Brittany. Putting her phone away, Brittany kept waiting, smiling at the thought of the sleepover, when she felt arms wrap around her waist, and lips on her cheek. Brittany giggled a little, nodding her head, and linking pinkies as the two girls walked.

“Yes please, can we, these bags, I don’t wanna drag them around anymore than I have to,” she chuckled as she nodded in agreement to Santana’s suggestion. The pair kept walking, and talking, about the night they were about to have. I’ve really missed Quinn. She’s like that big sister I never had. She.. I just miss her so freakin’ much. So  so much.. Santana unlocked the front door as the girls reached the house. They then headed up to Santana’s room to get changed. As much as the girls loved the Cheerio’s uniform, and moreso the power it brought them, it was always nice to dispose of it when they could, and wear their own clothes. As Brittany was pulling on her black skinny jeans, and oversized t-shirt, she watched Santana as she wandered to her wardrobe, in her underwear, to choose an outfit. Brittany blushed a little as Santana caught her lingering, asking if she saw something she liked. “Nope,” Brittany replied. “But there’s something I love…” she said in a distant like sing song voice, as she walked over to her girlfriend, who was now clad in a black denim mini and deep purple tank top, and held her side on, “Ready to go get some sugar, sugar?” she giggled, somewhat proud of her play on words. Santana rolled her eyes, giggling a little herself,  and kissing Brittany’s cheek. Grabbing their bags, the two girls headed out the front door to get supplies for their unholy trinity sleepover.

The girls made their way to Santana’s house, heading upstairs to get changed. Santana loved her cheerio’s uniform, it gave her more power than most people; but she enjoyed being able to wear her own clothes when she could, not to mention how much hotter she looked. Santana smirked as she watched Brittany get changed, and quickly undressed herself as she headed over to her wardrobe in her underwear. She was pondering over what to wear when she turned and caught Brittany staring. “See something you like babe?” Smirking, she turned back to pull on her black mini and purple tank top. She giggled slightly at Brittany’s response, and turned when she felt her hold her from the side. Sugar, sugar? Oh, Brit, you’re so damn lame. Santana rolled her eyes playfully, giggling along with how Brittany could make something so lame sound so cute, and kissed her on the cheek. “Come on loser.” The girls grabbed their bags and headed out to buy the supplies for their unholy trinity sleepover.

The walk down to the shops was short, and the girls linked pinkies the whole way, giggling with excitement about how great the night would be. Entering the store, both girls immediately headed to the candy section. Santana picked up a basket and handed it to Brittany, who began to throw nearly every bag of candy she could see. Santana smiled. “Slow down crazy, I doubt we’re gonna need that much! Actually, we probably are. Grab some chocolate too!” Brittany agreed and then began to throw some chocolate into the basket. Santana thought they should probably get some kind of real food, although didn’t want to spend too much time cooking that night, when they had so much catching up to do with Quinn. “Yo B, not sure what kind of food we have at home for dinner… you cool if I just grab some frozen pizza or something? Screw spending too much time on cooking tonight…” Brittany looked thoughtful for a moment, then suggested that the girls just order in some pizza later, like they used to at their sleepovers. Santana smiled, liking that idea. “Smartypants. Okay, ordering in it is! Plus all this damn sugar, we’re going to be crazy. It’ll be awesome.” The girls giggled at this, then grabbed some soda and a few more sugary treats. While waiting at the check out, Santana felt her phone buzz. Grabbing it out of her bra, she saw it was Quinn calling. “It’s Q.” she mentioned to Brittany, before answering the phone. “Hey Q! What’s up?” “Hey San. Are you girls still at school?” “Oh, nah we left a little early to buy us some things for tonight. Everything okay?” Quinn’s voice sounded as normal as ever, but Santana could sense something deeper behind it. “Yeah, everything’s fine. Rachel just said something to me in passing… but it can wait till tonight, so don’t worry about it. I’ll be over around 6 or so, that okay?” Santana gasped slightly, as her eyebrows creased in confusion. What the hell would Berry say to Q that’d make her need to see Brit and me? “Yeah 6 is fine. You sure it can wait till tonight? Wait, why was Hobbit even talking to you?” Santana swore she heard Quinn smile through the phone. “I promise, it’s fine, San. I’ll see you girls a bit later. Love you!” Santana wasn’t convinced, but accepted she’d have to wait. “If you say so Q. Love you too!” Santana hung up, paying for their purchases in silence, ignoring Brittany’s question as to what Quinn wanted.

The girls began walking back to Santana’s house, when Brittany asked again what Quinn wanted. Santana figured she should speak up now, she wasn’t exactly getting anywhere with her thoughts. “Um. She said Berry mentioned something to her… but I have no idea what it could even be that’d make Q want to talk to us about it. She’ll be over around 6 so I guess we’ll have to wait…” Santana looked up and saw Brittany too look a bit confused, shrugging her shoulders and telling Santana not to worry and that if Quinn said it could wait, it couldn’t be that bad. “I guess so…” Entering the house, Brittany must’ve sensed that Santana was still slightly on edge, for the next thing she knew, Brittany’s lips were pressed against hers, softly but passionately. Santana pulled away, smiling. “Cutie. Come on, let’s go get this stuff upstairs and find some good dvd’s we can all watch later or something.” Brittany agreed, taking Santana’s hand as they headed back upstairs. I know Q said it was fine… but fuck. What the hell could Hobbit have even said? Something about me and Brit? Shit… okay, breathe. Q will be over in a few hours… we’ll talk it out then… then tell her about me and B… it’ll be okay.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany lay there, head against Santana’s chest, and listened to everything she said. Perfect? No. I’m not. Look at me. I’m a mess. You’re helping me through that. All of it. She trusts me, because you make me happy. You make me smile. You make me… Me. As Santana kept speaking, Brittany looked up towards her face, gazing lovingly at her girlfriend. When Santana sat them both up, Brittany smiled, leaning in to place a small kiss on her girlfriends lips, and then groaned along with Santana as the bell rang for class. When Brittany stood, taking Santana’s hand, and was met with a tight embrace as she got to her feet. “Umm. I think we have like english or something..” Brittany said as they walked back towards the lockers, pinky linked like always. “Friday night, if you’re.. If you’re sure about it, maybe would be cool. I mean, we can’t on Saturday…” Brittany giggled, winking at Santana, who in turn, winked back at her, a smirk on her face, nodding in agreement. I know it’s huge, I mean, I half didn’t expect you to say yes to it.. Part of me was saying no to me.. But they really would appreciate this..

Once the girls reached their lockers, and dug out their books for English, Brittany smiled at Santana, hoping the look showed that she understood and knew that no matter what, side by side, they would be okay, together, and could get through anything. The girls linked pinkies, and headed into class, taking up their usual seats at the back. Neither girl paid attention, and Brittany wrote Santana a note, sliding to her in the usual cheeky and sneaky fashion, ‘Hey, think we could just ditch last classes? Get a head start with the stocking up on candy. It’d give us more time to do it and stuff and not have to rush before Q gets to yours.. Plus i can’t remember what class we have after lunch.. I’m sure it’s boring.. And no practice tonight.. whattya say? Brittssss :P xo’ Before passing the note, however, Brittany quickly added, ‘P.s - You’re not a screw up. Not at all. Remember that okay <3

The girls walked to their lockers, and Santana nodded absent mindedly at Brittany as she asked about friday night. She was still lost in her own thoughts, but was snapped out of them when Brittany mentioned saturday, before giggling and winking at Santana, as she reciprocated. Santana thought to herself that the dinner they were planning would definitely be difficult to proceed with, but she felt as though it was the right thing to do - and if it went wrong, well, the girls had saturday night to take their mind off of things. The girls reached their lockers and got out their english  books. Santana smiled back at Brittany, acknowledging the hidden meaning behind those lips. I know we’ll be okay. We have to. They linked pinkies as usual, and headed to class, taking their usual seats down the back of the room. Santana was far from listening to the class, casually leering to the wall as her mind replayed moments of her and Brittany together. She looked over to Brittany and saw her slide her a note, which she quickly opened. Good idea… oh. Not a screw up?…Britt… Santana wanted to cry in that moment; reading such simple words from Brittany, it made her heart explode. All she could muster up in response was a small smile and nod in Brittany’s direction, hoping she wouldn’t catch on to her nervousness.

Once the bell rang, the girls stood up and Santana turned to Brittany. “Take my books back to my locker, and I’ll meet you out front okay? I’ll talk to Coach and tell her we have to leave for the rest of the day.” Santana did have hidden motives to her plan, but was pretty sure Brittany didn’t catch any of it. Brittany nodded and headed off to their lockers, as Santana made her way to Coach Sylvester’s office. She knocked and entered, to find Coach look up slowly. “Ah, Sandbags! What can I do for you?” Santana repressed rolling her eyes at the nickname. “Hey Coach. Britt’s is kinda freaking out about the new routine we’re working on, do you think we could have the rest of the day off so we can go practice? You know how she gets when she stresses about dancing or cheerleading…” “Hmm. Sure thing. Just make sure it’s perfected by next practice. Now leave.” Santana smiled in thanks, and exited the office, now making her way down the corridor. Knocking and entering, Santana looked up. “Santana! Beautiful girl, if only I was your age… Anyway, what can I do for you?” Santana closed the door and turned back around. “Hey, Miss H. Was just wondering if you’re still cool to help me out the song for Brittany tomorrow?” Miss Holiday smiled coyly, nodding. “Of course! I’m sure she’ll love it. I even brought that special thing you asked for, so the magic will be even more perfect.” Santana sighed in relief, thankful to her favourite teacher. “Awesome. Thanks heaps, Miss H. I’ll see you tomorrow.” “Bye Santana!” Santana turned and walked back out, making her way to the front of the school to meet Brittany.

Spotting her and quickly glancing around to make sure no one was watching, Santana skipped up behind Brittany and hugged her from behind, placing a small kiss on her cheek. “Ready to go?” Brittany nodded, and the girls linked pinkies as they began walking back. “Did you want to drop our bags off at home first, then walk down to the store? It’s only a few minutes away, and beats dragging around our bags and we can get changed too.” Brittany nodded in agreement, and the girls continued their walk. Tonight’s going to be amazing. Fuck, I miss Quinn so much…

Brittany hated swearing, and only did so when it was appropriate, and thought it was okay at the right time when others said it. But when Santana swore, it scared her a little. The tone she used. Brittany’s body stiffened up, only relaxing slightly, but keeping her eyes glued to the ground as Santana spoke, tears slowly dripping from her eyes. I love you too. And you won’t screw up. I believe that. You’re the only person in this whole world I trust with my life. And mummy does too. You’re.. You’re the one I’m going to be with for the rest of my life. Please don’t think you could hurt me. I could hurt you, by being stupid or something.. Brittany felt Santana lift her head up, and she didn’t know how to think about it all quite at that second, so she attempted to keep her face as neutral as possible, at least until her own thoughts had processed somewhat. Brittany shut her eyes as Santana kissed away all her tears, and pulled her into a tight hug, kissing her face and neck. You care so much. You have so much love and I am so lucky.. No don’t you cry.. Brittany reached up, gently wiping away Santana’s tears.

After what seemed like forever of staring into each others eyes, attempting to figure out each others thoughts, Santana broke the silence. Think of something to say Brittany. Anything. Go just speak. Really, the love of your damn life is scared.. Not even sure of what she was going to say or how to say it, Brittany just spoke, “I.. Please don’t be scared or anything. It.. The fact that you care so much, and.. You love me so much.. It just.. It makes me feel so special.. And I’m sc-scared San, scared of hurting you. Saying something stupid. I don’t know. But all I know is that.. That you’ll always be there, nobody is perfect. I.. I know we both.. We’re scared.. And.. That’s okay. We can.. We can work through it together.. But please, don’t.. Just don’t cry, mummy said those things because she knows, like a mummy does, that all this, it’s true. We.. I’m not going away. Ever. Okay?” Brittany held her gaze as she lent in, pressing a deep kiss to Santana’s lips, and barely pulling away, whispering, “I’m not crying because I’m upset okay. I promise. I’m crying because.. It’ll sound stupid and I’m sorry.. But it’s because I kinda didn’t realise how much you care about that stuff, like what my mummy said.. It made me so happy.. I just.. It really did. To know you hold what my mummy thinks so highly..” Brittany was sure she’d just rambled and said a lot of things that probably didn’t even make any sense. She then felt Santana’s arms wrap tightly around her, as both girls laid down gently, holding each other tightly.

The girls laid there, in silence, just holding each other close, and gently stroking each others arms and sides, when Brittany spoke up, softly asking, “Hey.. Do you think.. We maybe could.. I don’t know.. Have a dinner… With both our parents.. And talk to them? They might.. I don’t know.. Appreciate it.. I can tell mummy would like it if I spoke to her a bit more about this even if she doesn’t say it.. And if we do it together, maybe it’ll be a bit easier, and like.. I don’t know..” Brittany quietly drifted off, not even really sure of what she’d said or how to finish it, and nestled her head on Santana’s chest even further.

Santana listened, even though her mind was still a mess, she attempted to make sense of Brittany’s words; and in a weird way, like most things Brittany says to Santana, they did make sense. She’s scared too? But… B, you’re perfect… Santana barely noticed the deep kiss Brittany pressed to her lips. Then she began speaking about her mum, and Santana’s body tensed up. That shouldn’t make you happy… it makes me sound like a freaking lunatic. Fuck. I love you. Santana wrapped her arms around Brittany and laid them down slowly together, holding on to eachother. The girls lay like that for a while, in the other;s embrace while softly stroking each others arms. A dinner? With our parents? Shit, B… I guess together it’ll be okay… Santana stayed silent, lost in her thoughts as she felt Brittany nuzzle against her chest.

Santana cleared her throat when she felt her face finally dry from tears, and attempted to speak. “B… you have nothing to be scared about, understand me? You are perfect, you could never ever say or do anything wrong…” Santana felt her throat lock up, but was determined to continue. Clearing her throat, she tried to speak again. “And yeah… I do care alot about that stuff. I know it seems silly or whatever but… I can’t help it. You’re like… i don’t know, perfect doesn’t even cover it. How someone as close to you as your freaking mother can trust me just… yeah, freaking terrifies me. But I have you, and you keep me… sane, I guess. We’ll be okay…” Her voice trailed off, lost again in the mess of her thoughts, wishing she wasn’t so afraid of everything. She kept her eyes up at the sky, not knowing how Brittany was responding to her words, other than just feeling her breath against her chest, which calmed her down. “A dinner with our parents sounds great. Creepy, but great. They’d like it. We can do it this weekend sometime I guess, or friday night maybe. I don’t know, we’ll work something out.” Santana now allowed herself to glance downwards, meeting Brittany’s loving gaze looking up at her. Santana gently pried Brittany away, bringing them both to sit up, holding both of her hands and looking into her eyes. “I love you, Britt. I know with you, we can get through all of this.” Brittany smiled, and leant in for a small kiss, which Santana then smiled into aswell. They heard the bell ring, and groaned in unision. “Come on babe, should go get to class. What do we even have now? My memories all crazy again…” Santana stood up and held out her hand for Brittany, which she took and lifted her, embracing her in a tight hug. I’ll never leave you. Ever.

britty-kitty-pierce:

Brittany was thankful class went by fast, because eventhough the sneaky smiles were sweet, she just wanted to properly say hello to her girl, and tell her about the conversation she’d had with her mum the previous evening. And about the note of course. Finally the bell rang, and the pair went to their lockers, then headed out to the secluded tree, walking in comfortable silence. Brittany ran her fingers up Santana’s arms as her hands gripped at Brittany’s waist, and smiled into the soft kiss she received. As Santana pulled away, Brittany kept smiling, and lightly pecked her girlfriends cheek. The pair sat down, and picked at their snacks. “I missed you too,” Brittany looked up, smiling at Santana. Then she got asked about the thing she wanted to tell Santana. Brittany smiled and nodded, “Well, firstly, I went to bed last night, and found a note under my pillow,” she said cheekily, “Thank-you,” Brittany reached over, lifting one of Santana’s hands to her face, kissing it softly, “It was so so sweet, and beautiful.” Letting go of Santana’s hand, Brittany picked again at her snack, “But that’s not all I needed to tell you San..” Brittany looked up, biting her lip nervously as Santana asked her what was wrong.

No secrets, remember. “Well, so after mummy and Emma got home last night, and Emma had gone to bed, I was sitting on the couch with mummy, having a hot drink and watching some old crappy movie..” Brittany looked down, avoiding eye contact with Santana, “And then she.. Well, she asked me where the ring on my finger had come from.. I’d.. I’d forgotten to put it on my necklace.. And umm. So I told her that you had gotten it for me.. I couldn’t lie to her..” Brittany began playing with the grass infront of her, out of nerves, “And then she started going on about dresses and a reception venue and all this stuff and I freaked out and told her no it wasn’t that sort of ring.. She knew that, she was joking she said.. But umm yeah then she asked what sort of ring it was.. And I told her it was a promise ring.. That’s we’d promised ourselves to each other.. And mummy said.. She said that she knew you’d never break the promise, and that she trusted you so much..” Brittany looked up to Santana’s eyes, not really taking in any expressions her girl had, “And that she was glad you’d be there when she wasn’t to look out for me and stuff. She thought it was such a beautiful idea and didn’t seem mad or anything, but really happy..” Brittany forged a shy smile, then went back to looking down at the ground, and nervously picking at her food.

Brittany sighed, “I.. I’m sorry.. I didn’t know if we were telling our parents about it or not, but I couldn’t.. I couldn’t lie to her and say nothing.. I.. I’m sorry..”

Santana listened, and smiled when Brittany mentioned finding her note. She was going to say how she had found hers also, but decided not to, and instead continue listening to what Brittany was saying. Santana was getting slightly nervous now, and was trying to keep her breathing steady. The ring… okay… Santana watched as Brittany was the one getting nervous now, playing with the grass in front of her. Breathe, Lopez. Wait. She joked… okay WAIT. Your mother… said I’d never break the promise? Of course I won’t but… she said that… Santana was now intent on keeping her expression unreadable, even to Brittany. She wasn’t even sure what she was feeling, but there was a terrible sinking feeling in her chest that she couldn’t shake off. She could see that Brittany was still nervous, even with her shy smile. When Brittany apologised, Santana could only muster enough strength to nod, and reach out slowly to tenderly stroke Brittany’s hand for a moment, before pulling away. The girls sat in silence for a moment, each trying to collect their thoughts. Stop. Just. Stop thinking, at least speak. Say something, it’s Brittany, she can’t always read your damn mind… fuck. “Well…” Santana coughed a little, not realising her throat was now painfully dry. “I… I get that you couldn’t lie to her… th-that’s okay, Brit, really. It’s fine. It’s scary as fuck -” Santana shook her head as she saw Brittany’s body stiffen, she knew that Brittany still hated it when she swore, but sometimes the words just slipped out. “Sorry. It’s scary, yeah, but it’s okay. Just. I mean..” Santana was thinking of ways to put her thoughts in to words without sounding like a horrible person, but she couldn’t. She decided she just had to say it; no secrets.

“I love you, B, more than I’ve ever loved anyone. I’m never going to stop. Just… your mum, of all people, saying that? Saying she trusts me… I don’t know how to deal with that. She’s your mother, and she… trusts your life with me, I know I’m nothing without you and of course I will always protect you and keep you safe… I… if I screw up, knowing it would break her trust too, I can’t, I don’t know how I can do this, B i’m scared, okay? I’m fucking scared and just-” Santana’s voice broke as her breath caught in her throat, unable to form any more words. Her eyes darted up to see Brittany’s eyes glue to the floor, tears welling up. Santana didn’t know why the girl was crying, whether she was upset or mad or hurt at what Santana had said, all she knew was that she had made the love of her life cry. Fucking good one, Lopez. Knew I’d fucking hurt her. Santana felt her arms begin to shake, body heat up and she could not have Snixx come out, not now. Not fucking now. Squeezing her eyes shut, she forced herself to take deep breaths until she could think properly. Santana opened her eyes and reached out to Brittany, lifting her face up to reach her gaze. She couldn’t quite tell what the girl’s expression was, but it broke her heart knowing she was mostly to blame for the small tears. She leant in and kissed them away, one by one, before embracing Brittany in a tight hug, placing kisses over her cheek and neck before again pulling away to look into her eyes. “Brittany. I’m sorry. I… I didn’t mean it to… make you sad… I hate myself for upsetting you. I love you so much, so much B. I can’t stand the thought of hurting you. Just… knowing that your mum said those things about me? Does she even know how much of a screw up I am? If I… if i hurt you, which I just have… she’s going to hate me. She trusts me… I don’t understand how, or why, I love your mum so much too and I just… it’s still hard, I’m still… terrified of hurting you… even now, please B please stop crying…” Santana sniffed a little, just as Brittany reached up and wiped Santana’s tears away, shocking her a little not realising she had been silently crying also.

The girls sat there for a little while, gazing into each other’s eyes, trying to figure out what the other was feeling. Santana felt helpless, especially seeing Brittany cry, and knowing she couldn’t just go up to the person that made her cry and tell them to back off before she hit them so hard that their parents felt it. It was her that made her cry; whether out of sadness, hurt, confusion… it was her. She couldn’t take it. “Say something, B. Please…”
